Digital Stage brings three premieres about love, courage and hope this October

This October, Digital Stage, the online platform for theatre, film, music, circus and dance run by the “Radu Stanca” National Theatre Sibiu (TNRS) and the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS), adds three performances that audiences had the chance to see at FITS 2026. Productions from Bulgaria, Canada, Spain, Romania and Brazil bring stories of love, courage and hope to the screen.

“Ce am lăsat între noi / What We Left Between Us,” a music theatre performance written by Miguel Gane and directed by Cristina Alcázar, brings poetry and music together in a story of love, encounters and farewells. It speaks of the things we shared and those we left behind: the kisses when we met, the embraces when we parted, the journeys we took and the seats on planes we never occupied. It is laughter rising above tears, a mischievous verse and the beauty of silence. It is knowing that saying goodbye does not always mean parting ways. We do not quite know why, or what song we would have chosen if we had danced together. Perhaps that is why all this poetry exists.

“Constelații / Constellations,” a production of Bulgaria’s “Ivan Vazov” National Theatre, explores how a single choice can change the course of a love story. If anything is stronger than time, it is love. In Constellations, a man searches for a way back to the woman he has lost, beyond reality, in a dimension where memories and emotions create new worlds. The performance explores the limits of life in space and time, the tension between determinism and free will, and the power of choice. Perhaps love and memory allow us to move beyond endings, forgive ourselves and rediscover a sense of belonging together. This mysterious journey for two, a path towards self-discovery, is performed by Nencho Kostov and Radina Dumanyan as part of the “Apostol Karamitev” Programme.

From Canada, Les Foutoukours presents “Esența vieții / Nova,” a contemporary circus performance directed by Remi Jacques. In a mysterious place filled with flickering candles and stacks of books, two acrobatic clowns weave a story about life in an adventure full of emotion and hope.

Amid warm lights and cool smoke, the acrobats try to preserve the essence of life. What would we do if, one day, a gust of wind took away our source of warmth?

The performance reminds us that even in the darkest moments, there is always a light to be found.

Tickets and subscriptions

Digital Stage’s monthly, quarterly and annual subscriptions include almost 100 available performances, with two new productions added each month. Theatre, film, dance and music lovers can choose a 12-month subscription for the price of six months, at RON 299, or a three-month subscription for the price of two months, at RON 89. A monthly subscription costs RON 49. Viewers can also buy an individual ticket for RON 30 to watch a specific performance.

Throughout the subscription period, performances can be watched anytime, anywhere and as often as desired. An individual ticket remains valid for four hours after activation and selection of the viewing window.
