A perpetual search of a return to the place that brings us closer to ourselves

A perpetual search takes us closer to ourselves. In Makom, Noa Wertheim engages spirituality, existentialism, with life around us. By carefully navigating between these poles, she turns movement into inspiration, ‘perpetuating a quest for the place that engages us with ourselves’. Noa explains, ‘Makom deals with the concepts of Image and Template. Image represents essence, emotion, and soul; it is our internal world. The Template represents the body, the all-encompassing structure. Between both conceptual frameworks, lays the perpetuity of time. Understanding the temporary nature of existence, we are confronted with survival questions – How does it end? Where does it fall? We are engaging these founding questions whilst we are in existence – being in space, in place, in physical form of our body – this is a magical structure of contradictions, with which we are born, and through which we explore the life paths’.

Ritualistic and rapturous – an outstanding choreographic poem by one of the greatest dance companies in the world.
